Visiting TOP OF SALZBURG requires no mountaineering skills whatsoever, for you will comfortably travel all the way from the valley to Salzburg’s highest-situated attraction on 3,029 meters via cable cars.
You have never been in a high-alpine setting before? Then just be sure to take a short break from time to time. The air up there is thinner than in the valley, you therefore might get out of breath quicker – though you should discover TOP OF SALZBURG tranquilly anyway to be able to soak up all the impressions to the fullest.
You have two options:
- From the Kaprun town center (Kitzsteinhornplatz 1a): You take the MK Maiskogelbahn at the Kaprun Center, ride up to the top station and change to the 3K K-onnection – one of world’s most modern and energy-efficient cable cars that gives spectacular views of the high-alpine landscape. From Langwied, the other cable cars will take you all the way up to TOP OF SALZBURG.
- From the Kaprun head of the valley (Kesselfallstrasse 60): You take the Gletscherjet 1 or Panoramabahn. From Langwied, the other cable cars will take you all the way up to TOP OF SALZBURG.
Please note: Both the MK Maiskogelbahn and the 3K K-onnection are not open all year round. Before your arrival, check the current Operation & opening hours »
